Team Leclerc's Team Blitz & Glitz

Team Leclerc’s Team Blitz and Glitz was a groundbreaking all-female martial arts demonstration team that redefined what was possible on the world stage. Comprised of girls and women ranging in age from just 8 to 40, the team became internationally recognized for its electrifying performances that seamlessly blended passion, precision, and elite-level skill. Wherever they performed—nationally or internationally—Team Blitz and Glitz captivated audiences and brought a bold new energy to the martial arts world.

The 14 members of Team Blitz and Glitz were drawn from Team Leclerc, an elite tournament team of more than 75 students training at Leclerc’s Martial Arts in New York’s Hudson Valley. Hand-selected and trained under the leadership of Laura Leclerc, these athletes quickly earned a reputation as top demonstration team competitors. As the only all-female demonstration team competing on the North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA) World Circuit—and believed by many to be the first of its kind at this level on this circuit—they stood apart in both presence and performance.

Despite half of the team being under the age of 13, Team Leclerc’s Team Blitz and Glitz consistently rivaled—and defeated—teen and adult teams on the sport’s most prestigious stages. Their results spoke volumes. In both 2023 and 2024, the team collectively earned more than 20 individual World Champion titles and more than 25 World Top Ten titles, all achieved by homegrown athletes developed entirely within Team Leclerc. As a team, they claimed the coveted NASKA Overall World Champion Demonstration Team title in both 2023 and 2024, cementing their place among the elite in competitive martial arts.

Led by Laura Leclerc—a multiple-time world champion martial artist herself—and supported by her husband, also a multiple-time world champion, Team Leclerc’s Team Blitz and Glitz was uniquely positioned for excellence. Laura’s vision, leadership, and commitment to athlete development shaped a team that combined technical mastery with unmistakable personality and performance quality. Each routine showcased not only athleticism, but confidence, artistry, and playful performance elements designed to interact with judges and spectators in creative ways.

At its core, Team Leclerc’s Team Blitz and Glitz was committed to empowering girls and women in martial arts. With their fierce determination and undeniable talent, the team inspired a new generation to step onto the mat, challenge expectations, and break barriers. Known for performing with their signature hair ribbons, Team Blitz and Glitz made a powerful statement: femininity and ferocity are not opposites—they can thrive together. Through every performance, they shattered stereotypes and served as role models for aspiring female martial artists around the world.

Under Laura Leclerc’s leadership and vision, Team Blitz and Glitz didn’t just compete—they helped redefine what it means to be a female martial artist in today’s world.
